Kapara works alongside a women's empowerment programme.
This programme teaches vulnerable women how to sew and we employ them to stitch some of our products including scrunchies, headbands, drawstring packaging bags and the uniforms for the boys at the Tabbar Street Children Shelter
These women have usually left marriages due to domestic violence. They then struggle to find work and consequently end up in the slums, unable to provide for themselves or their children.
The programme gives vulnerable women not only confidence but also a skill set that will allow them to work, earn and take care of their children.
