North Norfolk is one of those magical places that feels like it has a little something for everyone — whether you’re after sandy adventures, delicious food, or hidden gems for the whole family. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite spots from our recent trips, perfect for your next visit.

Food & Drink
The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe
Set right on the marsh, this is one of our absolute favourites. The Marsh Bar is especially beautiful in sunny weather — ideal for sundowners or a relaxed bite to eat while soaking in those Norfolk views.

The Mussel Pod, Brancaster Staithe
A must for seafood lovers! This little gem serves up the freshest mussels straight from the local waters. Simple, delicious, and the perfect taste of the coast.

The Jolly Sailor
A brilliant family-friendly pub. There’s a playground for the kids, and on some evenings you’ll even catch shanty singers, which makes for a great atmosphere.
The Old Store
Hands down the best breakfast spot! It’s popular, so we had to wait around 30 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. If you’re in a group of six or more, you can book ahead.
The Old Bank, Snettisham
For something a little more special, The Old Bank is a real treat of a restaurant and well worth a visit.
Drove Orchards
A fantastic food destination offering everything from Eric’s Pizza and proper fish & chips to tacos and more. There are also lovely little shops and, best of all, a sandpit playground to keep the little ones entertained while the adults tuck in.
The Norfolk Coffee Pedlar, Burnham Overy
If you’re heading out to Scolt Head, make sure to stop by The Norfolk Coffee Pedlar. It’s the perfect spot to grab an excellent coffee before your walk — a little pick-me-up en route to the ferry.
White Horse Bakery, Holme
A newer addition to the Norfolk foodie scene and already a favourite. They serve the most delicious croissants—flaky, buttery perfection—and excellent coffee. The perfect spot to pick up breakfast or a mid-morning treat before heading to Holme Beach.
Activities

Crabbing
A must-do! Head to Blakeney or Brancaster Staithe for a few hours of good old-fashioned crabbing fun.

Sandringham Playground
If you’re with children, this playground is a great pit stop to let them run wild and burn off some energy.
Holkham
An absolute gem for both nature lovers and families. With its grand estate, stunning parkland, deer, and adventure playground, there’s plenty to do — whether you fancy exploring the hall, cycling the trails, or simply enjoying a picnic on the grounds.
A Magical Walk: Holme to Thornham
Start the day with buttery croissants and coffee from The White Horse Bakery in Holme, then head out along the coastal path. The walk takes you through the bird reserve, past the beautiful stretch of Holme Beach, and round to Thornham. It’s about 1.5 hours and absolutely worth it for the views and fresh sea air.
We even managed it with quite the crew — two of us, a double buggy, a baby carrier, two three-year-olds and a six-month-old — proving it’s doable (and magical!) with little ones in tow.

Beaches
Holme Beach
A bit tricky to reach, but that’s part of its charm — quieter, wild, and so beautiful once you get there.

Brancaster Beach
A classic favourite: wide, sandy, and perfect for long walks.

Scolt Head Island
Take the ferry out for an adventure and discover this unique National Trust reserve. Don’t forget to grab your coffee from Burnham Overy on the way!

Shopping
Burnham Market
A hub for lovely independent shops and boutiques, perfect for a leisurely wander.
Bombay Sprout
A vibrant spot — and where we’ve even had our own little pop-up!
Pamper Yourself
Aura 37
After all that exploring, why not treat yourself to a little indulgence? Aura 37 offers one of the best facials we’ve ever had, thanks to Laura, who really knows her stuff. It’s one of the most comfortable and relaxing spaces — the perfect way to recharge while you’re in Norfolk.
